Rating files

Rating files contain all the data needed for calculating race results under ORC, and can be read by various scoring software packages. The ORC Scorer software is using the JSON format, but you can skip downloading as the ORC Scorer also acquires the rating data online.

Race organizers can acquire the necessary data to embed competitors in their races by downloading rating files, each one of them including the complete fleet of the relevant rating office. Please note that the use of rating files does not replace the owner's obligation to have a valid ORC certificate before entering any race.

The rating files provide digital input for all scoring data included in the certificate. Beyond scoring purposes, these files are also available to anyone interested to study the boats' relative performances.

The data included in each file are the latest received by the ORC central database from the individual ORC Rating offices. They are constantly updated with each new certificate issued. If a boat appears missing from a rating file, the race organizer should contact the relevant rating office directly.
