(Near) perfect inshore race conditions again at ORC Europeans

Today was another near-perfect day for racing in Day Four of the 2023 ORC European Championship, hosted by the Royal Malta Yacht Club. Blue skies, flat seas and 8-12 knots of wind kept the racing close in all three classes of this championship event featuring 37 teams from 11 nations.

The first race of the 2023 ORC European Championship in Malta is the Long Offshore Race which was intended to last 30-36 hours for the slowest boat in the fleet. Starting on Wednesday, April 26 at 11am with finishes on Thursday 27 April.

Under brilliant blue skies and active seas today, the fleet of 38 boats from 11 countries started the 2023 ORC European Championship hosted by the Royal Malta Yacht Club with a brisk “majjistral” wind, the local term for breeze from the northwest that funnels between Sicily and Tunisia.
RAN 630 set off from Livorno

With a gun salvo from the Frigate Luigi Rizzo the RAN 630 – Regata dell’Accademia Navale (Italian Naval Academy Regatta) in its sixth edition, kicked off Sunday morning April 23, in the waters off Livorno, in Tuscany. This 630-mile offshore race is valid with a coefficient 3 for the Italian Offshore Championship.
One week to the start of racing at the ORC European Championship

One week from today on Wednesday 26 April, 39 teams from 12 nations will set off on the first race of the 2023 ORC European Championship, organized by the Royal Malta Yacht Club (RMYC) under the authority of the Offshore Racing Congress (ORC), the Malta Sailing Federation and with support from Yachting Malta.

The ORC World Championships in Kiel (August 4-12, 2023) will combine the highest level of racing with what promises to be a record-breaking number of participants. North Sea Regatta 2023 Open for Entries

The Jachtclub Scheveningen announces that its annual North Sea Regatta is now open for entries. The event starts with the Vuurschepen Race held over 16-17 May, followed by the RORC North Sea Race held over 19-20 May, then inshore races held in Scheveningen over 27-29 May.

After yesterday's postponement racing was back on at the Superyacht Challenge Antigua 2023 on Saturday 11th March. Line Honours was once again taken by the 148ft Dubois sloop Gitana in an elapsed time of 01 hour 57 minutes and 39 secs. The racing was extremely close with the top four boats finishing within 4 minutes and 20 seconds after ORCSy time correction...
Livin' it up in Antigua

The first day of racing at the Superyacht Challenge Antigua 2023 was blessed with tropical heat and moderate breeze of 12-15 knots from an unusual westerly wind direction. The Race Committee set a course of approximately 13.5nm, composed of seven legs. With plenty of mark roundings over a short distance, precision in boat handling and lay line calls, avoided costly extra manoeuvres.
Less Than One Week to Entry Deadline for 2023 ORC Mediterraneans

Less than one week remains to the 15 March deadline for regular entry fees assessed to attend the 2023 ORC Mediterranean Championship being held over 18-21 May in Piano di Sorrento, Italy. At the discretion of the organizers from the Circolo Remo e Vela Italia (CRV Italia) more entries may be accepted after this date with a surcharge added to the regular entry fees.
