Using ORC WRS VORTICES 2 earns overall win in 50th Ft Lauderdale-Key West Race

In one of the faster races held in its 50 year history, Chris Saxton’s J/125 VORTICES 2 has captured both overall and ORC Class 1 victory in the Storm Trysail Club’s 2025 Ft Lauderdale to Key West Race. Other class winners include Andrew Clark’s J 122 ZIG ZAG in ORC Class 2 and Dan McGraw’s Hobie 33 DARK STAR.
Storm Trysail Club to Host ORC North Americans During 31st Block Island Race Week

The Storm Trysail Club is excited to announce that the Offshore Racing Congress (ORC) 2025 North American Championship will be hosted as part of the 31st Block Island Race Week (BIRW), set to take place June 21-27, 2025. This follows the highly successful ORC World Championship held in Newport last fall and starts an annual series of ORC North American Championship events.

In Singapore the ORC Nominating Committee led by Peter Tjalma (NED) recommended a two-term ORC Congress member join the ORC Management Committee to replace the retiring Pepe Frers (ARG). Their choice was an experienced sailor, race organizer and tireless volunteer for the sport based in Chicago: Matt Gallagher (USA).
