Under sunny skies and gentle breezes, the ORC European Double-Handed Championship embarked on a 200-mile journey alongside the 30th edition of La Duecento, organized by Circolo Nautico Porto Santa Margherita (CNSM) in collaboration with the Offshore Racing Congress (ORC) in the upper Adriatic.

With just a couple of hours remaining until the start of the ORC European Double-Handed Championship, anticipation is high for the sailing community. This championship will be contested during the 30th edition of La Duecento, a renowned 200-mile race organized by Circolo Nautico Porto Santa Margherita (CNSM) in the upper Adriatic. This is the second edition of the ORC DH European championship, an anuual event co-organized by the Offshore Racing Congress (ORC).

Shortly after 18:00h on Sunday April 28, “Smerit” the Swan 45 from the Club Vela Blanes, competing in the A2 0-3 category was the first boat to finish the 185-mile course after more than 30 hours of sailing. One hour and 57 minutes later they were followed by Daniel Martín’s “Barakah,” with his teammate ocean racing sailor Didac Costa.

The seventh edition of the RAN 630 – Regata dell’Accademia Navale, will start tomorrow, April 24, at 6 p.m. with a blank shot fired from the frigate Margottini, lined up on the starting line in front of the Italian Naval Academy, aboard which will also be Italy’s best-know sailor, Giovanni Soldini, who will greet the crews after giving a lecture on sea protection at the Naval Academy at 3 p.m.
