The Offshore Racing Congress (ORC) is thrilled to announce that the ORC Double Handed World Championship 2025 has been awarded to Yacht Club Monfalcone in Italy, while the ORC Sportboat European Championship 2025 will be hosted by Yacht Club Torbole on Lake Garda, Italy.

The outcome of the final two inshore races at the 2024 ORC European Championship has determined three new ORC European Champions: Karl Kwok’s TP 52 BEAU GESTE (HKG) in Class A, Tiit Vihul’s modified X-41 OLYMPIC (EST) in Class B, and Ott Kikkas’s Italia 9.98 SUGAR (EST) in Class C.

Penultimate day of racing today sets up the showdowns for final podium positions tomorrow. Each class had their own course to race today: Class A’s was 46.4 miles in length, Class B was 39.9 miles and Class C was 30.7 miles. Each course had its finish line placed in the harbor at Mariehamn.

Custom designs and builds remain in the majority among the biggest boats competing in ORC 0 at the 2024 ORC World Championship at the New York Yacht Club Harbour Court in Newport, R.I., September 27 to October 5. In Classes B and C, however, where the boats are almost entirely under 40 feet long, every entry is a production-built boat.

57 entries from 10 nations in Europe and beyond begin registration Friday, with racing to start on Monday. Teams are gathering now at Mariehamn, the Åland island venue near Finland that is hosting the 2024 ORC European Championship. Organizers for this event held over August 9-17 include the Finnish Offshore Racing Association and Åländska Segelsällskapet (ÅSS) under the authority of the Finnish Sailing Federation under the overall authority of the Offshore Racing Congress (ORC).

One the extensive race docks around the Real Club Náutico de Palma crews are making their final preparations in ready to take on the 42nd Copa del Rey MAPFRE regatta. More than 120 teams from 23 different nationalities, from first time amateurs to America’s Cup winners, Ocean Race winners and Olympic medallists, are all set to convene on the Bay of Palma over the coming days, contesting the top prizes which will be awarded at Saturday’s prizegiving.

After a challenging 204 miles of sailing in conditions that ranged from perfect to challenging, the winners of the 100th edition of the annual Bayview Mackinac Race presented by National Fleet Services were celebrated today at the scenic finish venue on Mackinac Island, Michigan. A record 332 monohulls and multihulls entered the race, with 309 boats completing the course.
