The M10 ZAS C&R achieved victory in the ORC A Dos (DH) race of the Trofeo SM La Reina
June 30 2024 - Valencia, Spain - With the long race completed, the inshore races of the event will take place between July 4 and 7 at the RCN of Valencia. The M10 ZAS C&R, skippered by José Luis Francés, owned by Carlos and José Francés, competing for the RCN of Valencia, claimed victory in the ORC A Dos race of the 'XXV Trofeo S.M. La Reina – Regata Homenaje a la Armada - XXXVI Copa Almirante Marcial Sánchez-Barcaíztegui’ after completing a total of 160 nautical miles in a time of 24h00:33.
The fleet of this class departed from the Real Club Náutico de Valencia, the organizer of the regatta, on Friday, June 28, at 12:18 PM, heading towards Es Vedrá and Es Vedranell on the starboard side and returning to Valencia.
The first boat to cross the finish line was the TP52 Blue Carbon - Aproperties, skippered by Toni Guiu (RCNB), crossing just before 9 AM on Saturday, June 29, after a time of 20 hours 54 minutes and 44 seconds. The second to finish was Frers 45 Aquarelle 1 Varadero Valencia, with Arturo Meseguer, representing the RCN of Valencia, with a time of 23h28:36. In third place, shortly after noon, after 24 hours, 18 minutes, and 33 seconds, the Swan 45 OD M10 ZAS C&R, skippered by José Luis Francés (RCNC), crossed the finish line.

The progress of the day, measuring the arrival times and ratios, shaped the provisional classification by mid-afternoon on Saturday, with the top positions defined: 1st M10 ZAS C&R; 2nd Blue Carbon - Aproperties; 3rd Aquarelle 1 Varadero Valencia; 4th SunFast 3300 Guanguanco 4; 5th Figaro 2 Inteman - Barakah Inteman.
The race, initially planned with a route (1) of 220 miles, had to be adjusted on Friday a few hours before the start to the second course, which involved completing 160 miles. The Race Committee, considering the weather forecast provided by Ignacio Quintana from AEMET, decided on the 160-mile route to ensure the safety of the smaller boats, as winds from the south exceeding 28 knots were expected early Saturday morning.

The fleet started with 15 registered boats, mostly under the Spanish flag and with notable representation from the Real Club Náutico de Valencia, along with two units from Poland and one from France: Aquarelle 1 Varadero Valencia, with Arturo Meseguer; Tortooga, with Rafael Ruiz; M10 ZAS C&R, with José Luis Francés; Reti, with Xavier Santamaría; Vikingo, with Antonio Picot; Cafés Granell, with Agustín Granell; and Entropía, with Pablo Aleixandre. The list of participants continued with Blue Carbon - Aproperties, with Toni Guiu (RCNB); Inteman - Barakah Inteman, with Daniel Martín (RCMB); Tete, with Alexandre Martínez (CV Mataró); O'Marylou Romeu / Green Iberica / OPS, with Unai Cilleruelo (Club Orza de Getxo); Guanguanco 4, with Thierry Lallemand (CN de Altea); Computer Contable, with Rufino Cardo; Smerit, with Tito Moure (CV Blanes); and Pampero of Down, with Rodrigo Quesada.
Among the new features in 2024, the 'XXV Trofeo S.M. La Reina – Regata Homenaje a la Armada - XXXVI Copa Almirante Marcial Sánchez-Barcaíztegui' will host the ORC SportBoat European Championship, with 19 boats representing five countries (Netherlands, United Kingdom, Italy, Turkey, and Spain), starting on July 4 and concluding on Sunday, July 7. Models like Tom 28, MaxFun 25, GP 26, Sonar 23, Platú 25, Farr 25, J80, ESTE24, and FC8 will be seen on the water.
Additionally, the SM La Reina Trophy will be a scoring event in the The Nations League circuit for the ClubSwan 42 class, competing from July 5 to 7. Boats with flags from countries such as the Netherlands, United States, United Kingdom, Italy, and Spain will sail. In addition, on the entry list for the ORC classes there are boats also from Germany, Estonia, and Spain. In any case, the inshore fleet will be composed of the ORC 0, ORC 1, ORC 2, ORC 3, ORC 4, ORC Open, and Promotion classes along with the aforementioned.
